Summary

She's addicted to sex。 He's addicted to booze。。。 the only way out is rock bottom。

No one would suspect shy Lily Calloway's biggest secret。 While everyone is dancing at college bars, Lily stays in the bathroom。 To get laid。 Her compulsion leads her to one-night stands, steamy hookups, and events she shamefully regrets。 The only person who knows her secret happens to have one of his own。

Loren Hale's best friend is his bottle of bourbon。 Lily comes at a close second。 For three years, they've pretended to be in a real relationship, hiding their addictions from their families。 They've mastered the art of concealing flasks and random guys that filter in and out of their apartment。

But as they sink beneath the weight of their addictions, they cling harder to their destructive relationship and wonder if a life together, for real, is better than a lie。 Strangers and family begin to infiltrate their guarded lives, and with new challenges, they realize they may not just be addicted to alcohol and sex。

Their real vice may be each other。

Idk what I expected but it definitely wasn’t this。 Both the main characters are hella fucked up which I get since its a portrayal of addiction but it was so repetitive and boring。 The writing isn’t good and I have never been so confused with the rave reviews this has on TikTok。 Does it get better when they get fixed up because I’m trying to understand what’s likeable about the two

*3。75 stars*This book felt like i was reading a 2000s teen tv show。 It was pretty good but like any 2000s teen tv show there were some boring parts so it took me a little longer than usual to read。 I really liked the ending and I did predict the plot twist but i still liked it。 I can’t wait to read the rest of the books。

i have a feeling a will actually finish this series, i typically stay away from series with over 5 books, but Lily and Lo truly have something special and i am excited to read the rest of their and their friends stories

In love with this book! Seeing addictions with this perspective was eye opening for me。 Can't wait to read more about Lily and Lo and everyone else。 The main plot twist was very predictable tbh, but I liked it anyways。 In love with this book! I absolutely loved this book I haven’t loved a book this much on a while I couldn’t put it down was reading it right up to when I needed to go to work。 It had me laughing, crying, thinking to myself wtf has just happened shouting at the book。 I can’t wait to start the next one and finds out what happens。 However, I did kind of guess where the book was heading to。

I’ve seen this book floating around for years so when I saw Berkley was rereleasing it, I figured it was the perfect time to finally read it。 I’ve heard a lot of hype surrounding both this book and the entire series and while I can sorta see where people are coming from, I also kind of don’t get it either。 There were things I liked, for sure。 It was just as addictive as everyone said and it was a whole lot like watching a train wreck but it gave me the same type of feelings I would have if I was I’ve seen this book floating around for years so when I saw Berkley was rereleasing it, I figured it was the perfect time to finally read it。 I’ve heard a lot of hype surrounding both this book and the entire series and while I can sorta see where people are coming from, I also kind of don’t get it either。 There were things I liked, for sure。 It was just as addictive as everyone said and it was a whole lot like watching a train wreck but it gave me the same type of feelings I would have if I was watching an actual train wreck。 It was hard to watch two such self destructive characters make awful decisions over and over again and it didn’t help that they were both very unlikable。 Their relationship is the very definition of toxic and while I don’t usually mind that, I also don’t need a whole book focusing on it either。 There was something entertaining here and I liked the authors style, but overall I’m not sure if there was enough here for me to like。 Especially unsure if I will continue this series。 。。。more

5⭐️s! I picked up this book because I saw my fave booktoker @LarryReads recommend it (it’s her fave series) and I didn’t let myself read much abt it before going in! From page 1, I was hooked! The characters and their struggles were portrayed so realistically and I laughed, cried and ached with Lily and Lo! This book broke me in the best way possible!

Interesting plot line, took a while to finish probably my fault as I wasn't in reading mood but it was a good book and I am really wanting to read the whole series plus the Calloway sisters books。 Interesting plot line, took a while to finish probably my fault as I wasn't in reading mood but it was a good book and I am really wanting to read the whole series plus the Calloway sisters books。 。。。more

5/5Starting off August strong。 I really really liked this book。 I feel like it changed my perspective and made me appreciate books with only one POV。 Seems better written especially since I felt more in tune with the main character and felt for her more。 I loved the plot and it was definitely something different than other books I’ve read。

[3。25/5] I finished this book in one sitting, and it’s very safe to say it was entertaining。

3。75 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫💫i have absolutely nothing against this book, it’s beginning to live up to the hype & the plot has started to progress。 but lily really annoys me sometimes。 the plot is great so far, makes sense。 but ryke seems so out of place still, even after the revelations。 this is 90% character progression & 10% plot - a side of spice。 I’m looking forward to the next books, especially when they become dual POV。 but one question:HOW DOES DAISY END UP WITH RYKE?! she’s so young rn

tws: alcoholism, addiction, sexual content, sexual assault ——————was this as good as everyone made it out to be? no。 but was it also kind of good and might i say… addicting? (i joke, i joke。 please put away the pitchforks。) yes。i honestly feel SO BAD for lily calloway。 this girl deserves the world and just a lot of hugs。 i feel like it’s kind of messed up how society treats her for her addiction (while lo’s addiction is glossed over, but that’s a topic for another day), and this book really show tws: alcoholism, addiction, sexual content, sexual assault ——————was this as good as everyone made it out to be? no。 but was it also kind of good and might i say… addicting? (i joke, i joke。 please put away the pitchforks。) yes。i honestly feel SO BAD for lily calloway。 this girl deserves the world and just a lot of hugs。 i feel like it’s kind of messed up how society treats her for her addiction (while lo’s addiction is glossed over, but that’s a topic for another day), and this book really showcases the lows of addiction, something that at times was really hard to read。something i will say is that this book definitely felt like a second book or even the third in a series。 it’s just that so much happens prior to this book that builds up to exactly what happens throughout addicted to you, but we are merely told about all of this。 i would have loved a little prequel novella before this, at least, because it would introduce the characters and their stories much better rather than us just jumping into this。i’m not a fan of loren hale so far, if i’m being honest。 again, we’re told SO MUCH about him, but not shown nearly enough。 i know we get his POV later on, but in this book i felt like i didn’t really know him at all。 he’s mean but he’s soft for lily? i want to see that。also, i wish lily and loren had more personality separate of their addictions。 i understand that addictions take up your life, but it felt like without their addictions (like, pre-addiction lily and loren) what are they? shy and mean, have no friends, rich, love comics? that’s pretty much them in a nutshell。 oh, and they have parent issues。 i really hope we get to see more of their characters later oni ADORE the side characters in this book, though。 connor, ryke, rose, and daisy, i just love all of them。 they were great supporting characters and added a lot to the story, in my opinion。 the book would have been very lacking without them, in my opinion。 also- i love the rich kids vibe going on。 just a forewarning, this book gets very dark and very uncomfortable a lot (the secondhand embarrassment is STRONG with this one)。 also, i wish the romance was more sought out。 it felt like everything happened very quickly and there wasn’t really any buildup for their romance at all。 that goes back to how i felt like so much was skipped over at the beginning, making this book feel like it came later in a series。 i wish we got more LiLo story, but i hope we see more of that later。this book wasn’t bad, though, and i liked the portrayal of the addictions, the whole vibe and setting, and especially the characters (which in my opinion make or break a book)。last thing: i saw a tiktok a couple days before reading this one that talked about the offensive asexual comments in this book。 while reading this book i did notice those comments (twice) so i also deducted a star partially for that。 the gay comments weren’t great, either。 i haven’t seen a lot of people talk about this, but i hope that more awareness is brought about that to this book (i heard kbr is slightly problematic, though i’d have to look more into that)4 stars! a decent beginning to a LONG series (that’s pretty popular, too。 hoping it gets better!) that i’m kind of excited to get into, seeing as i’ve heard so many good things about it。 。。。more

So I originally rated this three stars but then i realized that was unfair。 This book is heavy but so good and I absolutely love the characters and I predict there will be lots of character development throughout the series。

staring with the fact that it’s taken me almost 5 months to complete this book… not because i didn’t absolutely fucking enjoy! it it was because i wasn’t in the right headspace to read it。 i thought that this book was just going to be a boring, no chemistry, just fluff romance book。 little did I know that this book would turn into the best fucking series that I could possibly read。 if you’re hesitant to read this just push through! the story will trap your mind, body and soul! you’ll get angry a staring with the fact that it’s taken me almost 5 months to complete this book… not because i didn’t absolutely fucking enjoy! it it was because i wasn’t in the right headspace to read it。 i thought that this book was just going to be a boring, no chemistry, just fluff romance book。 little did I know that this book would turn into the best fucking series that I could possibly read。 if you’re hesitant to read this just push through! the story will trap your mind, body and soul! you’ll get angry at characters and you’ll want them to do the right thing but they do the complete opposite! this book shows the story of addiction and how your environment can influence it! it makes you angry because you feel like you have no control。lily and lo are two people who are meant to be together but you don’t know if they are! towards the end of the book you don’t know if taking time away is actually the best, or if it will hurt them in the future。 you don’t know if their chemistry is just because of addiction of it’s because it’s really love!I like the fact that I can only really see lily’s opinion in this book。 it makes me feel like i’m seeing it through her addiction and i wouldn’t want Lo’s inner monologue showcasing how he’s see it。 I feel like we really need to see her mind。 i know people don’t like it this way but I feel like it’s crucial to the actual storytelling。overall i am in tears writing this as i finish first book and i am super excited to continue on with the rest! 。。。more
